About CalculateOvertime.com
What We Built
CalculateOvertime.com is a free overtime pay calculator designed to give workers clear, instant answers about their overtime pay. We built it because most existing tools online are either too simplistic — they don't handle state daily-overtime rules, multiple pay rates, or custom union thresholds — or they're buried in clunky multi-calculator aggregator sites loaded with ads and popups.
Why We Built It
Overtime pay confusion is genuinely common. Workers regularly struggle to understand how blended pay rates work when they hold multiple positions, how daily versus weekly overtime thresholds interact, and whether their state's rules differ from federal law. The information is out there, but it's scattered across dense legal documents and payroll industry blogs that aren't written for the people who actually need the answers.
We wanted to build something that gives a worker a straight answer in under 30 seconds.
What Makes It Different
- Fast and free — no signup, no email gate, no paywall
- Daily overtime support — handles California, Alaska, and Nevada daily OT rules automatically, plus custom union and collective bargaining agreement thresholds
- Multiple modes — Simple Mode for quick estimates, Daily Hours Mode for day-by-day schedule breakdowns with automatic regular, overtime, and double-time splits
- Annual projections — see how your overtime adds up over a full year
- "What If" slider — instantly explore how different overtime hours would change your pay
A Note on Accuracy
We've built this calculator carefully and cross-checked its logic against federal and state labor law sources. That said, overtime rules are complex — they vary by jurisdiction, exemption status, industry, and collective bargaining agreements. We always recommend consulting your employer's HR department or a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation. The results here are estimates of gross pay for informational purposes only.
